A. Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and understanding of concepts related to technology (as described in the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers).
At the beginning of the school year I conducted a staff needs assessment to get baseline data on the staff’s knowledge, skills, and understanding of technology. This helped me focus on areas that need more attention, thus making my staff development more efficient and effective.
Artifacts:
During Staff Development I have introduced concepts related to technology. I introduced Smartboard Toolkit 2.0, Discovery Streaming, Wikis, and School Web Page. Teachers were introduced to these technology systems and were provided with resources about how to find out more and meet specific learning needs. I will assist teachers in ongoing development via the wiki and working with teachers in small groups. Using the wiki provides assistance to teachers to identify various technology resources they can use to meet their students' needs.
Artifact:
B. Demonstrate continual growth in technology knowledge and skills to stay abreast of current and emerging technologies.
I attended the MSET (Maryland Society for Educational Technology) convention in Baltimore this spring (and for the past 5 or so years). MSET is an affiliate of ISTE, the International Society for Technology in Education. This demonstrates continual growth in technology knowledge and skills. To take a look at their website, click here. At the bottom of my MSET Profile page (see link below) lists my years of membership.

I am the eCoach at our school, working as a liason between the Office of Instructional Technology and our school. Office of Instructional Technology/AACPS This role allows me to regulary attend training sessions as part of the eCoach program. I also serve as our school Location Controller, which involves adding and modifying student and teacher accounts for the Scantron Achievement Series assessment program in a school of 700+ students. See the link below for a list of my AACPS transcript, which lists training sessions I have attended in the past two years. Attending technology conferences, eCoach training, and Location Controller training allows me to model appropriate current technology operations and concepts.
